Founder & Executive Director

 Shant Manuel was born in Chennai (Madras) and grew up in Mumbai (Bombay).  Several generations ago, his family became Christian and, at the age of 23, Shant accepted Christ as his personal Saviour.  He came to Canada to continue his university studies and, in 1981, sensed a clear call to pastoral ministry.  After spending twenty years in pastoral ministry in the Atlantic provinces and four years in international missions, Shant and his wife Ginny formed Far Corners Ministry in 2008.  They have a grown son and daughter, two wonderful granddaughters, and live in Upper Hammonds Plains near Halifax, NS. Shant continues to be active in pastoral ministry, at times serving as a local supply or interim pastor.  After many years in healthcare, Ginny now keeps busy with most of the administrative duties of FCM.

S. Kumar was born into a Christian family in a small village in northeastern West Bengal.  Because of his burden for the needs of believers in his home state of West Bengal, particularly those who had little access to health care, education, and further biblical training, Shakti resigned his job of 23 years and moved his family back to West Bengal.  Later that same year he was directed to Shant Manuel of Far Corners Ministry, whose vision for mission in this part of India was very similar, and an important partnership began.  He has been a wonderful asset to the work of Far Corners, bringing great skills of administration, a knowledge of the local people, impectable integrity, and above all, a desire to edify and equip local believers.
